There are a few eating establishments within walking distance of Casa de Mariposas.

At the Caribbean Village at Punta Sur there is a pleasant restaurant with stunning views across to Cancun. Food here is reasonably priced, the restaurant is normally quiet and the gardens here are beautiful with a gorgeous wedding pavilion overlooking the sea. From here you can also take the scenic walk around the cliffs at Punta Sur and visit the ruins of the Mayan Temple of Ixchel.

For typical Mexican food and a rustic charm there is El Pueblito which is a casual open air restaurant just before Garrafon Park, approx 100 metres from the Casa. The fish here is excellent and view is priceless.  Prices here are very low and the restaurant is open for breakfast, just so long as it's not too early! This is Mexico after all. They normally open about 09.30 in high season and about 10.00 in off season.

Garrafon De Castille is the hotel next to Garrafon park. It has a pretty beach bar and excellent snorkelling facilities. There is a restaurant at the beach bar serving snacks like nachos, tacos, burgers and home made fries (very yummy).  The staff are friendly and you can take snorkelling tours from here or join them for the evening barracuda fishing from the dock. Snorkelling equipment is available for hire and this is a low cost alternative to the more all inclusive option of Garrafon Park next door.

The elegant spa of Casa De Los Suenos (House of Dreams) is just a few minutes walk from the Casa.  The spa facilities are open to the public.

Downtown Isla Mujeres is just a short taxi ride away and here you can explore a huge array of restaurants offering everything from traditional thin and crispy oven baked pizza at Rolandi's to wonderful ceviche at Cocktelias Picus just north of the Ferry Dock.   For fantastic desserts and crepes we recommend Color De Verano a small restaurant next to Jax's at the roundabout at the North end of town. Their Cafe au Lait is fabulous and we drink it by the bucketload!  Dining on Isla is fun, casual, very inexpensive and offers excellent value.

For those of you who like to do some of your own cooking, even if it is just breakfast there is a small supermarket a few hundred yards from the Casa at Loma Bonita Condos.  There is a large supermarket in the town square and now in the middle of the island in the Colonias, and here you can get fresh baked goodies as well as everyday groceries and toiletries.
